from 997 reviewsOrganic Beet Powder from Koyah in my opinion is the best around. I have been using it in my smoothies to get the boost I need of nitric oxide. Organic and freeze dried make it unbeatable as a part of healthy eating. If you've tried other beet products, I suggest you try Koyah, you won't be disappointed!
Koyah quality is top tier and worth the price. The packaging was excellent and environmentally friendly.
Oh this is some top-shelf cranberry snow - a real A-type proanthocyanidin flavor bomb, and without running any fancy quantitative analyses, I'm willing to bet that between half and a full scoop delivers clinically-active doses of APACS, as well as the supporting matrix of organic acids & polyphenols, plus fiber.
If you see something gritty settle, that's good - those fibers are the delivery mechanism for the active ingredients, so your body absorbs them better. I'd be a little skeptical if this cranberry powder was 100% water-soluble as there should be fiber content remaining after lyophilization.
Protip: Koyah's acai powder is a high-fat carrier for this cranberry powder, so if you use half a scoop of each, you'll end up with a synergistic combination of fats carrying the APACS and the full spectrum of phenolics buffering out delivery & metabolism. Such a winner combo.
Watch out for descriptions of ORAC this and antioxidant that, if you're reading that kind of nonsense about a cranberry powder then it's a money grab. The mechanism of action has nothing to do with redox chemistry, and entirely to do with molecular binding and chemical geometry - antioxidants derive value from their reactivity, APACS derive value from their stability. They're polar opposites. A single whiff of "ORAC" and I'm out - that kind of marketing fluff is not for me.
Those double-interflavan bonds on A-type PACs (not the same for B-type) physically coat bacteria and bind them up in the exact same way a straitjacket binds up a human's arms. The bacteria, quite literally, cannot grab a hold of your cells because their arms (by way of metaphor only, bacteria clearly do not have arms) are physically wrapped up in a molecular straitjacket, one that is remarkably stable and does not oxidize, hydrolyze, or degrade very easily.
Again - this is not about reaction chemistry, this is about binding geometry and stabilization. Antioxidant test results can be flushed down the toilet, along with the microbes which desperately tried to adhere to your cells but couldn't because the non-reactive APAC's flexed out on them harder than Ronnie Coleman in his prime.
Yeah buddy welcome to the daily stack. Cranberries have exotic terp profiles and rare phenolics, so I'm glad to be able to work this in at a half-scoop per day.
I love using this super healthy broccoli sprout powder in my shakes.
I love these black currant capsules because they are organic and have no added fillers.
This is the best maqui berry powder money can buy. The only way to get higher quality is to eat the berries off the tree yourself - and I'd much rather use a scoop of this than forage 146 berries.
The concentration of delphinidin sambubiosides (the specific anthocyanin found in maqui berries) is remarkably high, and so too is a volatile essential oil fraction - I'm getting a-/b-pinene terpinolene, myrcene, ocimene, linalool and other oxygenated terpenoids + esters, most of which are typically lost post-harvest, before they can be preserved via freeze-drying.
Their presence here is a testament to the high-quality, harvest-to-lyophilization SOPs the manufacturer has in place. Koyah is clearly bringing in the absolute-best quality maqui berry powder that modern tech can make... and offering it for a reasonable price.
I hope they continue with this ethos, the price to quality ratio of this maqui has quickly made me a customer for life.
It doesn't get much better than this - 1.5 grams of fat in a 3-gram serving is all I needed to see on the label to understand that this was the last acai powder I'd be seeking out.
I've been looking for some top-shelf acai for a while now. It's easy to find a brand that claims theirs is the best (they all do) but I have not found any that retain such a high fraction of fats. This is a marker for quality in acai - as the fatty acids are more volatile than the anthocyanins, they are the first ones to get oxidized.
Check the labels on your acai products! You might be paying twice as much for half the quality. Thank you to Koyah for offering top-shelf acai at a humble price.
