    Tips for evaluating Celery Powder

    1. Start with the taste and smell - A celery powder should taste and smell like celery. Our powder is made by freeze-drying whole celery stalks and grinding them into a powder. It has a very fresh celery taste and scent. If a celery powder does not have a strong celery taste or smell it has likely be diluted with some sort of filler (such as maltodextrin). Our powder is 100% pure.
    2. Color - The center of a celery stalk is white and the outer skin is green. When dried and powdered, the resulting powder should be very light green in color. If the powder is darker green in color with a brownish tint, it is a sign that the drying process has degraded the celery stalks as they are dried which will result in a lower quality powder. You'll notice when you add our celery powder to water the color is identical to freshly blended or juiced celery.
    3. Ingredient list - Our product is 100% pure organic celery powder.
    4. Other things to consider - Lastly, when evaluating the quality of a celery powder it is important to understand how and where the product was grown. Was it grown using Organic farming practices and is it Organic? Was it grown in good quality soil, or was it grown in highly polluted areas (such as China where heavy metals such as lead can be a major concern). We source our celery from Organic farms in the USA.

    Hydroponic versus Sprouted from soil..

I’ve learned that they are sprouted hydroponically , and not on soil. My feedback would be the product would be even higher quality and more beneficial if it was grown on organic soil where good microbes can thrive and are included in the product. Otherwise it has no beneficial microbes to reap its full health benefits, especially those who are affected by gut issues like colon cancer. I hope customer service can relay this message to the company.

Hi Nadia, I think you meant to give this review to our broccoli sprout powder. Our broccoli sprouts are sprouted hydroponically until the cell wall cracks (typically 4-7 days). They are then freeze-dried to lock in the maximum nutrients possible (including the active myrosinase enzyme and the glucoraphanin). We use third-party testing to ensure that the active enzymes are present in the product.

Not the same as celery juice

I juice organic celery every morning but I am on vacation and don’t have my juicer with me so I purchased the celery powder as a substitute. It is ok but it doesn’t provide the same benefits that organic celery juice offers. I will use it in smoothies but I will go back to juicing when I get home.

Thank you for your review. It's great you purchased our product to get celery in while traveling. Juicing celery removes the fiber content, which is one of the many benefits of consuming the vegetable. Fiber is crucial for digestive health, as it aids in maintaining regular bowel movements and promoting a healthy gut. When you juice celery, you extract the liquid, leaving behind the fibrous pulp. When you drink celery juice it does still provides some of the vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants in the whole celery stalk, but the absence of fiber alters how the body processes the nutrients. Fiber helps slow down the absorption of sugars, supports satiety, and contributes to a feeling of fullness. Without fiber, the juice may lead to a quicker spike in blood sugar levels.
